Making A Course Visible

By default, students can’t see your courses in Moodle until you make them "Visible". This gives you a chance to set them up in advance. You will need to go into each courses and essentially switch it on. When you enter your course, you will see a menu with a Settings option.

After clicking on the Settings menu option, you will see the Course visibility option. Change Hide to Show, scroll to the bottom of the age and click on the Save and display button. You can use similar steps to Hide your course at the end of the term. We typically hide all courses in the Spring or Summer after grades have been entered and we remember to do it.

Now that your Course visibility has been set to Show, students will see it listed in My courses under In progress or All. If the course has not started yet but is set to Show, it will show up under Future or All. Courses that have ended will show up under Past or All.

select which courses to list

Individually, you can Star this course (like making it a favourite) or Remove from view (it can help to hide old courses when your list gets long).
