Building Your Course
My Courses
Log into Moodle and click on My courses to see your list of courses. The default setting will show you all of the courses in which you are registered in any role (generally as Teacher).
If you can't see a course you are expecting to, please talk to your department. They can confirm whether or not they have informed the Registrar's Office that you are teaching the course and if all the paperwork has been taken care of. The Registrar's Office has to manually enter your information into their system, after which the enrolment in the course in Moodle happens automagically.
Metacourses
In Moodle, there is a thing called Metacourses. This magical creature allows you to combine the Participants of multiple courses into one, so you can put all your course content into one place instead of having to duplicate it. Let's say you teach 5 sections of a lab (e.g. CHEM 1013 FA01 through FA05). We can help you create a Metacourse that combines these 5 sections into one (e.g. CHEM 1013 FA01-05). Or you have a course that has different codes for majors and non-majors (e.g. PSYC 1023 WI01 & PSYC 1123 WI01). We can create a Metacourse (e.g. PSYC 1023/1123 WI01). Even if you have some assignments or activities that are done at different times or on different days, it's usually easier to handle all of this in one place. There are ways of using groups and other tricks to simplify your life.
